So glad to find more 'awesome'phobic people in here. Thought I was the only one who cringed when inanimate items, abstract ideas, people... and what not were addressed with the same beaten-to-death word. I do the count sometimes when I am with people who use this word on an hourly basis .. its got that bad.

A little part of me dies every time I log into Facebook and see my so called friends proclaim how 'awesome' their lives are.

"astonishing" is what most corporate advertisements (as well as nature documentaries, for some reason) tend to use instead of "awesome", with the same frequency, and it irks me at least as much as "awesome" does.

It's a pleasure to see that others are weary of this over-used, under-meaningful word... Grand it is!

Wow, I'm sure glad to find other people fed up with how "awesome" has been turned into an absolutely meaningless and worthless word by the general public.

Have you ever had a thought on the word, "incredible"? I don't know if it was ever strictly used to describe things that were not credible, but it sure sounds like that would be a good use of the word. I feel like society must have fucked up incredible somewhere over the decades, as with awesome

I typed "I hate awesome" into my search engine and this was the first place I came to that wasn't some stupid comment about someone hating something that was "awesome" to someone else. I feel like strangling someone who uses this word these days, done to death, it is now a useless and demeaning word, it should be removed from the lexicon!
