i like brouhaha, it describes a specific commotion that one might hear at a holiday camp , or whilst enrolled in the army or that camp in "holes", and as for kerfuffle, i like it as a joke, it works out with an english accent, and i used it frequently when my friend was in a wheelchair and we came upon a thin door or a set of stairs. the joke originates from little britain (tv series) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMBG4CzAL1w

I used kerfuffle this weekend, organically. That is, I used it in natural way while speaking. It simply trickled out, from the back recesses of my brain, storing old Adam Hall thrillers I used to read at my Grandma's house. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I found myself speaking the word before I knew what was happening, and it came out roughly, arrhythmically. Hearing now that people hate it, I'm rethinking how I should feel about it. It's like I've eaten something somewhat sweet, but also slightly gross, and so I can't decide how it tastes. I may be all right with it, and repost using my actual name. But I'm not there yet.

Dearest Christmas Pudding,

I dare you to walk through any part of your town that isn't GATED whilst speaking this word aloud. Count the number of times you are eviscerated. It will be more than four.

All my best,
Yadda yadda yadda

Goddamn. I have to respectfully disagree here. I love "brouhaha." You actually prefer "pandemonium"? "Brouhaha" is the Big Brother to your Winston Smith. In about five years you will feel like Winston does about Big Brother at the end of the book.

I trust you will have the decency to amend this entry at that point.
